About Phil
I am committed to serving the people of Cabarrus County with integrity, transparency, and a focus on sustainable growth. My wife of 52 years and I moved here in 2022 to be closer to our daughter and her family. I’ve seen the challenges facing our county. As a retired engineer, I have the time, knowledge and experience to address them effectively.
Priorities
Smart Growth
- Manage development while preserving the character of our communities. Everybody is pro-growth. I am for growth that makes sense holistically for the County.
Education & Schools
- Develop a comprehensive plan for increasing the capacity of our schools.
- Develop a plan to address the significant amount of postponed maintenance for our school's infrastructure.
- Recruit the best teachers and pay them a salary commensurate with surrounding communities and counties.
Infrastructure
-
Plan for the needed investment in roads, water systems, and public services that support our growing population.
Economic Opportunity
- Create good-paying jobs by supporting existing small businesses throughout Cabarrus County.
- Ensure that investment in new businesses are economically feasible and strictly monitored.
Public Safety
- Ensure our law enforcement, fire, and emergency services have the resources needed to keep our growing county safe in the future.
Fiscal Responsibility
- All of these take money, and that comes from the taxes we pay.
Making smart investments while being a good steward of taxpayer dollars is essential.
Transparency in how our money is spent is crucial.
Why I'm Running
I decided to run because of my wife, my daughter, my son-in-law and my grandson.
When they look back at this time in our history, I want them to be sure that I did everything I could to help make things better.
I will work with anyone, anywhere and at any time thathas the best interests of Cabarrus County in mind.
Political affiliations should not be a consideration when the future of our County is concerned.
We need commissioners who will work collaboratively, make decisions based on facts and community input, and always put the interests of Cabarrus County families first. That's the kind of commissioner I will be.
